Built in 1928, Urania was redesigned from a wishbone rig to a Bermudian ketch rig in the late 1950s. She is the flagship of the Royal Netherlands Naval College where she is the training vessel for executive officers.

The 78’ Urania flies the flag of the Netherlands, and is a three-time recipient of the prestigious International Sail Training Association’s Cutty Sark Trophy, awarded annually to the ship that best demonstrates the spirit of sail training.

Urania sails with three executive officers, two petty officers and twelve cadets. Her home port is Den Helder, the Netherlands.
